Starting off with a bare room gave this customer a blank canvas to work from to dress their 3 separate windows that form the bay window and seating area. They had the opportunity to use the shutters as the starting point for their interior design look and feel.
They shutters chosen were the full height style to allow the choice between total privacy and shade along with the option to let in lots of natural daylight. They also chose concealed push-rods, these allow the shutter slats to be opened and closed by operating one of the slats by hand, which in turn connects to the others, and avoids the central visible push-rod.
As each window was separate within it’s own reveal the Z frame was chosen which wraps around the reveal to create a very neat picture frame look around each set of shutters. It also provides the additional benefit of squaring up a reveal that might otherwise be out-of-square, particularly important in some period homes.
